How do I use P.A.I.R.S.?

There are two approaches to using P.A.I.R.S. effectively:

The FIRST is for those individuals that know the area; (represented by YEAR and GRID MAP) they wish to obtain aerial photography for.

If you are one of these people, follow the steps below:

1. Click on the INDEX button and then select the TEXT index option.

2. Select the aerial YEAR that you wish to download and its LOCATION.

3. Once you select the year and the location of the aerial that you wish to obtain, a THUMBNAIL view of the image will appear to the right of the MAP.

4. If this is the aerial you want and you need a closer view, click on the aerial to enlarge it.

5. If this is the aerial you want, exit the enlarged view and verify your item for download. Click the DOWNLOAD button. You may then select additional images for download.

The SECOND is for those individuals who have an idea where they need to look based upon a property site, but need further clarification to pick the right aerials.  If you are one of these people, follow the steps below.
NOTE: All aerials shown on the MAP represent the most current aerial year (2000) and are for identification purposes only.  In order to view and download a different year you need to select an aerial from that year’s grid.

1. Click on the INDEX button and then select the MAP index option.

a) After the MAP of Pinellas County finishes loading, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the screen.

1. To the left of the MAP is a LEGEND that you may use to select AERIAL INDEXES for all of our aerial years along with POINTS OF INTEREST which help you find your location.

2. To the right of the MAP are the tools that help you use the MAP effectively.  These tools include a PAN button, a ZOOM button and a SELECT button.

b) Now that the MAP has finished loading follow the steps below to select your aerials:

1. Select the Aerial Index you wish to obtain aerials from by clicking the checkbox to the left of the MAP on the Legend.  You may also select several of the Points of Interest to further assist in locating your area.
NOTE: In a moment, the index will appear and become active.  Running your mouse pointer over any feature without selecting it will produce INFORMATION about it.

2. Once you select the aerial year you wish to obtain, left click once in the grid in the area you feel is where you want to be and a THUMBNAIL view of the image will appear to the right of the MAP.

3. If this is the aerial you want and you need a closer view, click on the aerial to enlarge it.

4. If this is the aerial you want, exit the enlarged view and verify your item for download.

Click the DOWNLOAD button. You may then select additional images for download.and click the download button.
