REGISTER – Registration
includes some personal information shared with Pinellas County Public Works,
which is used to provide shipping services to our customers as well as maintenance
of account data for internal analysis. WE NEVER SHARE OR DISTRIBUTE ANY PERSONAL
INFORMATION FOR ANY REASON.
USER NAME
– The user name you enter
may be any combination of characters or numerals.
PASSWORD
– Your
password may also be any combination of characters or numerals. Retrieval
of forgotten passwords will be handled through the receptionist. SHIPPING – Your FedEX or UPS account number may be entered at this point to automatically
have your aerials shipped to your chosen destination.
YEAR – This
is the year the aerial was flown. The
dates available range from 1926 – 2000. NOTE:
Not all aerials are available within this range. Please refer to the application
for additional information.
GRID MAP – The
grid map refers to the method the photographer used to organize the images. Several
different grids are available for Pinellas county Aerials. Refer
to the MAP portion of this application for additional information.
TEXT – This
search method allows the user to locate the desired aerial image through a
tabular listing of the images available for that year. This method requires
that the user know the area they are looking for.
MAP – This
search method allows the user to use an interactive geographic display of Pinellas
County to locate the desired aerial image. Click on the INDEX button at the
top of the screen and then select the MAP button.
LEGEND – The legend
serves
as an explanatory list of the layers available within the MAP display. This
allows the user to view information on the MAP display by checking a check box
to turn
on/off the layer. AERIAL INDEXES – The
aerial index refers to the method used to organize the images collectively. Several
different indexes are available for Pinellas county Aerials. Refer
to the MAP portion of this application for additional information.
POINTS OF INTEREST
– Places of familiarity for people upon a geographic reference,
which aid in the process of identification of an unfamiliar location.
Example: - Railroads, Lakes known roadways.
PAN – Moves
the screen display from side-to-side.
ZOOM – Controls
the height or scale of the current reference point.
METADATA – Metadata
is defined as data about data. This
information refers to the method of collection and assembly of the images
viewed on this site from the perspective of the individual responsible for
geo-rectifying
the images to the earth.
